about

‘Suicide (I meant forever)’ was the second full length D.I.H album released originally on Hallo Extrenico back in 2006 and like with the previous album ‘Internal Conflict’ took two years of planning, writing and recording and again featured the trio of Andy N, Keith Hicc and Uk Dragon.

After the ambient / white noise mashups of ‘Internal Conflict’, ‘Suicide (I meant forever)’
was another conscious decision to push the sound on to create a more melodramatic, deeper album with tracks like ‘I sit here immobile’, ‘Transcarlence’ and ‘Interlude’ all displaying major influences by Derek Jarman while other tracks like ‘After the rain’, ‘Alone in company’ and ‘My brother, the sea’ have a deeper, free flowing feel breaking off into broken Brian Eno territory while still retaining the experimental drone masterpieces of ‘No Communication III’ and ‘Candelight’.

If my memory was correct, there was somewhere around 30 tracks from which 14 tracks were released on the album with strings getting used, live Piano and bass / broken guitar and welcome guest vocals from our friend Thrill Racer.

A few notes about a few of the tracks:

Suicide (I meant forever) – The growling vocal at the front of the piece is actually me on some kind of children’s vocal distorter.

Candelight. A improvised vocal wrote under candlelight.

I sit here immobile – A Derek Jarman homage.

On the Road – wrote as witnessing a very sad story for a homelessness team.

My brother, the sea – A homage to a Jack Kerouac novel and also to my brother.
